A welcome from the Principal

As we move past 31st August 2009 and the closure of The Heartlands High School, we need to reflect on the journey this school has made in the last six years. In March 2003 the school was seen to be failing its students. In February 2009 the school was recognised as “OUTSTANDING” by Ofsted. In addition to that the 2008 examination results saw the school in the top 1% of secondary schools in England, This is quite an ACHIEVEMENT and everyone associated with The Heartlands High School should be VERY PROUD.
It is essential we move into the Academy with the same determination and commitment to encourage our young people to realise their full potential. There will be opportunities to view the proposals for the new building. Our students will have a new uniform and there will be some changes to the curriculum.
I look forward to welcoming you into Heartlands Academy.
Mrs Glynis Jones – Principal
