Sociology KS5

Sociology is the study of society. At A Level Sociology you will study how different theories have changed and effected education, family policies and the politics of the UK. Sociology looks at issues such as how those from different backgrounds are more likely to turn to crime.

At AS Level you will look at the topics of culture and identity, families and households, wealth, poverty and welfare, education, health and research methods. At A2 you will study the topics of beliefs in society, global development, mass media, power and politics, crime and deviance.

Sociology requires at least 5 C grades at GCSE, including English. It is suitable preparation for the following career choices: social worker, politics, police, teachers and many more.
