Business Studies

Business Studies is all about how businesses work and how they relate to the world around them. You will study how businesses are set up, financed, organised and controlled. You sill also study how people are employed, managed and paid, how goods are developed, produced, sold and marketed.

You will learn about many different aspects in business studies including:

• Different ownership types

• How businesses choose their locations.

• Communicating using ICT in Businesses

• Stakeholders

• Marketing and promoting a product.

• Methods of competing against other businesses.

Assessment: 100% coursework completed over 2 years on 3 different businesses

Qualification gained: OCR Nationals Level 2 qualification in Business Studies (equivalent to 1 GCSE)

Career Opportunities: Pupils are encouraged to contact business over the course to supplement their portfolios of work. Possible career paths could include: Accounts Manager, Administrations Assistant, Human Resources Manager, Investment Banker, Senior Recruitment Manager
