Phase Leaders - KS4

Welcome to Key Stage 4 where everything begins in earnest, as students begin their various examination courses. My role as Phase Leader for Key Stage 4 is to oversee what happens in Year 10 & Year 11 by working closely with the Learning Managers who have the day to day responsibility of ensuring that each and every student in the year group achieves of their best.

Key Stage 4 is a challenging and exciting stage in a student’s life, as we encourage them to take more responsibility for their own learning; on the way to becoming successful Independent Learners who are able to cope with the demands of an ever changing work market.

However, Key Stage 4 is not solely about sitting exams, as students in Year 10 will be expected to embark on a week’s Work Experience, at a placement that many of them will have found themselves. On the other hand, Year 11 will be set a series of challenges throughout the year as part of the Principal’s Challenge, aimed at maintaining the motivation within the year group. The year concludes for the Year 11s with the inevitable exams; a Graduation Ceremony to acknowledge the next stage in the lives and finally a School Prom.
